Cask ale week

Cask Ale Week

Cask Ale Week 2015 with Palmers Brewery was another cracking week of events, ale samples, Brewery tours ,beer buses and bicycles.

The Palmers Beer Bus made a return to Bridport Market on Saturday morning and thanks to some fabulous weather, lots of people turned out to sample Dorset Gold and our seasonal ale for autumn, Captain Hardy. There were Dorset Gold sausages from Balson’s Butchers and Tally Ho! baps from Leakers Bakery. Members of the Palmers Events Team were on hand to promote our fantastic pubs, award winning real ales and everything to do with Cask Ale Week.

The brewery opened its doors once again to the public. Over 100 people took the opportunity to join us on a complimentary trip around the historic brewhouse in Bridport and to learn how we have been brewing award winning ales for over 220 years.

There was loads more going on throughout the week with lots of pubs running ale themed menus, Cask Ale Week quizzes and the finale of the week was the return of the Tour de Palmers.

Over 60 riders joined us for a fun ride round 15 Palmers pubs over 36 miles followed by a complimentary BBQ (and Cask Ale) for all participants at the West Bay Hotel, West Bay post ride.

The first team back, representing the Anchor Inn at Seatown made it round in an amazing 2 hours 9 minutes, winning a kilderkin of ale for their pub. The Mis-Fits came in a valiant second for the Tanners in 2 hours 18 minutes and team Turner Build Ltd came in a fine third in 2 hours 32 minutes representing the Loders Arms.
