Test and Trace

Palmers Test and Trace solution updated

multiple guest check-ins possible from one device

Monday April 12th sees pubs across the country open their outside spaces for seated table service, with enhanced requirement s for ‘Test and Trace’ data collection on arrival.

This time around, all guests over the age of 16 will be required to check-in rather than just the party lead, and hospitality venues are now legally required to refuse entry to anyone not wishing to do so.

Whilst the NHS Test and Trace App is the preferred option (with pubs needing to have the QR code posters displayed at all entrances), we have made some changes to our own GDPR compliant system to assist groups who’s members do not all have smart phones and also to save time at the door!

By visiting the Palmers Brewery website, or scanning the QR code poster, one member of the party is now able to enter everybody’s name on one form. The whole process stakes less than two minutes for a group of 6. The data is then stored in a GDPR safe environment, not used for any marketing, and accessed only if NHS test and Trace request it. It is even date and time stamped for them.

Bespoke check-in system

Tenanted Trade Director, Jim Jones says ‘Last summer, we were quick out of the blocks to develop a fast and reliable ‘check-in’ system for our pubs. We have taken the success of our system and enhanced it to reduce the time spent queuing for that long-lost pint. In addition to the time saving, lots of customers up and down the country just don’t have smart phones capable of running the NHS app, and our solution provides a quick and secure way of making sure everyone can enjoy a safe and happy visit to a Palmers pub right from the start’.
