Palmers Ale Fund donates £500 to Okehampton Community Recreation Association

Cleeves Palmer, Sales & Marketing Director Palmers Brewery presented a cheque for £500 to members of the Okehampton Community Recreation Association (OCRA) on behalf of the Palmers Ale Fund. OCRA were nominated to receive the award by The Railway Inn, North Tawton.

The donation will be used to support the OCRA initiative SNAP or Special Needs Activities in the Park. SNAP is a weekly social event held in Simmons Park aimed at children and young adults with special needs in the Okehampton area. Sessions involve musical interaction, gymnastics, trampolining and other sports activities led by instructors and volunteers.

‘Each year the Palmers Ale Fund invites key free trade accounts to nominate a charity of their choice to receive an award from the Fund,’ said Cleeves Palmer.

‘It was my pleasure to offer the nomination to The Railway Inn. Burt and Claire Bolt are long standing customers of Palmers Brewery, a relationship that goes back many years.

‘I am delighted with their choice, SNAP is an excellent initiative and I know that Palmers’ donation of £500 will be supporting an organisation that is of great benefit to many people in the community.’

The Palmers Ale Fund makes two awards of £500 each November and May to charities associated with the brewery’s free trade. The brewery invites existing Palmers accounts to nominate charities that they are currently working with. For more information or to obtain an application form contact enquiries@palmersbrewery.com
