Palmers’ new seasonal ale supports charity

Palmers Brewery has launched ‘Barley Mo’, the latest in its limited edition seasonal cask ales. Five pence from every pint of Barley Mo sold will go towards the teams in Palmers pubs and members of brewery staff who are supporting ‘Movember’

Movember, the campaign to raise awareness of men’s health issues, encourages men to grow a moustache this month. Barley Mo (ABV 4.6%) is a deep amber ale with a rich flavour for autumn.

Palmers Tenanted Trade Director Jayson Perfect said: ‘We are delighted to be able to support Movember. Every pint sold will mean five pence towards their fundraising. Our two short-run seasonal beers Colmers and Summer have been hugely successful and I am sure that Barley Mo, brewed especially for this month, will prove just as popular.’

Palmers Head Brewer Darren Batten, who created Barley Mo, said: ‘We have used Pilgrim as our bittering hop for the first time with Brambling Cross for its aroma, which gives a really autumnal flavour. It is a deep amber colour, full, rich and fruity with a lot of flavour. I am really pleased that every pint will help such a good cause.’

Barley Mo is the third of three short-run seasonal ales from the brewery this year. It will be on sale on draught during November in Palmers pubs as well as the brewery’s free trade sites alongside Palmers’ ale portfolio of five established brands: Dorset Gold, Best, 200, Copper Ale and Tally Ho!
