Palmers success at SIBA

Palmers success at SIBA

Palmers celebrate success once again at the SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers and Associates) South West Independent Beer Awards 2024.

This regional competition involves 100 industry experts taking part in a blind tasting of each brewery’s beers, and judging them accordingly.

Coming home with three awards this year, Palmers have shown the quality of beer produced continues to be extremely high.

Head Brewer, Darren Batten, said:

“We are so pleased that once again Tally Ho! has picked up a Gold award in the British Dark Ales class at SIBA South West. Palmers is most famous for this delicious dark old ale and it is a former SIBA Regional Champion Cask Ale.

Just as pleasing is our Palmers IPA being recognised and winning a Silver Award. Being a very commercial cask ale and in the majority of our wonderful Palmers pubs, to win an award for a mainstream beer in such a big class in the competition is brilliant. With Palmers 200 also picking up a Bronze, all in all, we had a very good day at the SIBA South West competition”.

Some fantastic achievements from Palmers, well deserved from the hard-working brew team.

Another exciting achievement!

Palmers celebrates more success at SIBA BeerX awards, winning Silver with Tally Ho!, in the Bottle & Can Stout & Porter category. Fantastic to have been recognised for an ale in both cask and bottle, especially up against fierce competition.

Darren said:

‘ Tally Ho! is our most awarded ale and a former Regional Champion in cask. It’s great for Tally Ho! to then gain national recognition in bottle at SIBA BeerX by winning a silver against the countries best bottled and canned ales. This shows that in our 230th year we are still competing with all the ‘new kids on the block’, still picking up awards, and that drinkers still love traditionally brewed ales.’
