John Palmer, Three Cups Consultation

Three Cups options on show

Palmers Brewery will be asking the public to comment on possible plans for The Three Cups at a special consultation day at the Pilot Boat in Lyme Regis on Wednesday 15 September.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 12.30pm to 9pm. Palmers’ representatives will be on hand to explain the three options under consideration and the public will be invited to comment.

The proposals include a ground floor retail use in The Three Cups building fronting Broad Street, additional retail units at the rear together with a new restaurant overlooking Lyme Bay, which could attract a celebrity chef.

One option includes some letting rooms within the scheme, offering accommodation to visitors. All options incorporate residential units, which are essential to fund the multi-million pound cost of developing the site.

The brewery has spent more than seven months consulting with town and district councillors and planning officers to find a future for the site that is both economically viable and benefits Lyme Regis. Discussions have also taken place with the Save The Three Cups group.
