Pub gardens - elevating your summer

Picture this: It’s a sunny, Saturday afternoon in August. You fancy a crisp, cool pint in the sun but you want to be sure you choose somewhere with a lovely pub garden. Somewhere serene, where you can relax and enjoy the natural beauty around you with your loved ones. Don’t forget the top quality beers!

Don’t worry, we’ve done the hard work for you. In this article, we will explore the history of Palmers Brewery and the benefits of enjoying your down time in beautiful pub gardens. It’s summer, let’s make the most of it!

A bit about Palmers

Established in 1794 by the Gundry family, The Old Brewery was was built on the banks of the river Brit. In the late 19th Century, brothers John Cleeves and Robert Henry bought the brewery and gave it their names. It became: JC and RH Palmer. Since then, the brewing has been non-stop and generations of Palmers have kept the brews alive.

The charm of a pub garden

Whether you’re going with family or friends, the pub garden is a haven for all. The perfect place to unwind for locals and visitors alike.

Seasonal dishes with fresh ingredients, complimented by the finest Palmers ales or crisp ciders. The company of your loved ones around you and the sun shining; what more could you want? The perfect gathering spot for a morning coffee, an afternoon catch up or an al fresco evening meal. Your local pub garden is full of possibilities!

It’s good for you!

Sunshine, fresh air and green spaces (although they’re not always grassy!) have been proven to be beneficial for your health. Being outdoors can reduce our stress and anxiety levels, so why wouldn’t we give it a go? Surrounding yourself with nature, your favourite people and great food and drink seems like a no-brainer, right?

Location, location, location…

We all have different preferences and each Palmers pub garden has its own individual charm. Whether you prefer a bustling town centre pub, or a relaxing countryside setting, you’ll find one that’s perfect with Palmers. Ranging from secluded, rural pubs like the White Horse, Litton Cheney, to larger pubs in the middle of town, like The Market House and Ropemakers in central Bridport.
