A family of three from East Wittering near Chichester enjoyed a week’s holiday in Dorset after winning first prize in Palmers Brewery’s Dorset Gold competition.
Keith Rathbone, Emma Gillett and eight-year-old Aloka stayed at The Barns in Loders in a lovely cottage with an outdoor swimming pool.
‘We had a brilliant time,’ said Keith, who works as a Countryside Ranger for Chichester Harbour.
‘We went fossil hunting and found some ammonites, we went to the village fete, we visited Weymouth to watch the Olympic sailing and we held our own mini Olympics in the swimming pool.’
Keith entered the Dorset Gold competition in his local pub, the Shore Inn in East Wittering.
‘We never win competitions so I was amazed when we won this,’ said Emma.
‘Our summer holiday this year was just going to be camping for a few days, so it was wonderful to stay in such a nice cottage. We are now looking at holiday homes for sale in Dorset.’
Dorset Gold is a refreshing and thirst quenching premium ale. It’s one of Palmers five fine ales, all brewed in the traditional way using the best ingredients at the historic Old Brewery in Bridport.
