Palmers Brewery Fund

support Bridport Bandits

The Palmers Brewery Fund is sponsoring the Bridport Bandits’ race kit for the coming season with a donation of £1000.

Darren Batten, Palmers Head Brewer & Director, presented a cheque to the group during one of the vehicle racing club’s evening sessions at their garage next to the Bridport Youth Centre.

The Bandits is a voluntary organisation that has been running for 23 years. It aims to give young people in Bridport aged 11-18 a chance to gain hands on experience in a workshop and go on to race the vehicles they build and maintain.

‘Palmers are thrilled to have another opportunity to support the Bandits’, said Darren Batten “they have a long relationship with Bridport and are a great vehicle for young people to learn life skills and get into motorsport.’

‘Many of the club’s previous members have made their way into the local automotive industry and we are delighted to be able to support such a valuable community asset.’

‘Fireproof racing suits are an essential but expensive requirement for all racing clubs,’ said Lou Barron from Bridport Bandits.

‘We are very grateful that Palmers have been able to sponsor us again this year so that our teams can keep racing and representing Bridport at meets across the South West.’

The Bridport Bandits are solely a voluntary organisation that is entirely self-funded assisted by the local community. New members are always welcome. Sessions cost £2 and are held between 7pm and 9pm on Monday and Thursday evening.
