John Palmer, Palmers Chairman & Managing Director, joined pupils from St Mary’s Primary School and presented a cheque for £250 to Janet Malpas, Afternoon Club Helper on behalf of the Palmers Brewery Fund.
“Our Breakfast Club & Afternoon Club are very popular with working parents who can drop their children from 7.45am and collect them up until 5.15pm’, said Helen Farmer, St Mary’s Headteacher.
‘The clubs provide a safe environment, filling breakfast to get pupils ready for the day and an after school snack alongside a range of fun activities. This donation from Palmers has been used to buy kitchen role play equipment which is already proving popular with the children.’
John Palmer added, ‘I am delighted that the Palmers Brewery Fund has been able to make this donation to St Mary’s. As a company we are always pleased to have the opportunity to support working families in Bridport. During my brief visit to the school it was pleasure to so many enthusiastic, busy and happy children and I am sure we will be able to support St Mary’s with other projects in the future.’
Since it was established three years ago the Palmers Brewery Fundhas supported dozens local charities and initiatives. Awards are made twice a year. The deadline for applications is 1 May and 1 November.
