Thirsty Palmers pub locals win 72 pints of beer

Ale lovers at The Ilchester Arms in Symondsbury were delighted to win 72 pints of Palmers Best Bitter.

Bridport-based Palmers held a contest in support of National Cask Ale Week to see which of their pubs could sign up the most visitors for a brewery tour. The winning pub won a firkin of Best Bitter. The Ilchester Arms took the lead with 27 people taking part in the tour.

Landlord Edwin Chubb said: ‘It was a very interesting day and everyone enjoyed it a lot.’

National Cask Ale Week is run by Cask Marque, the organisation that inspects pubs to ensure they serve real ale in premium condition. All 57 of Palmers’ pubs are accredited with the prestigious Cask Marque stamp, guaranteeing top quality beer.
