The Lamb and Flag in Oxford is celebrating selling one third of a million pints of fine ale from Palmers Brewery in Dorset over the last 12 years. Pub profits have gone towards scholarships for students at St John’s College, owner of the historic tavern.

Palmers Brewery hosted an asbestos awareness training course in partnership with Bruton Knowles property agents from Taunton. Everyone working in the construction industry now has to undertake asbestos awareness training. Palmers work with a number of local building contractors and consultants and organised the course on their behalf.

Annie McDonnell has celebrated 25 years as landlady of the Oddfellows Arms in North Allington, Bridport, making her the longest serving single licensee of a Palmers’ pub. Described by Annie as a ‘poser-free zone’ the pub is an outpost of traditional values.

A family of three from East Wittering near Chichester enjoyed a week’s holiday in Dorset after winning first prize in Palmers Brewery’s Dorset Gold competition. Keith Rathbone, Emma Gillett and eight-year-old Aloka stayed at The Barns in Loders in a lovely cottage with an outdoor swimming pool.
