The New Inn at Cerne Abbas, owned by Palmers Brewery, has been acclaimed Dorset Dining Pub of the Year – just days before it’s closed for six months for renovation. Landlord Jeremy Lee – also judged national Landlord of the Year – said he was ‘very excited’ to win both awards.

For the first time in hundreds of years, rare fish including salmon, eel and sea trout are able to swim up the River Brit to spawn, thanks to a new fish pass installed on the river at Palmers Brewery in Bridport, Dorset.

Tally Ho! is the toast of Palmers Brewery after winning the title of champion beer in a Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) contest. The beer won gold in the old ale and strong mild category of the Champion Beer of Britain for London and the South East competition 2010/11.

A short film made by Palmers Brewery pays tribute to one of the unsung heroes of British brewing – malt deliverer Brian Wood. Brian has been delivering sacks of malted barley to Palmers in Bridport, Dorset, for nearly 30 years. By hand, he’s loaded and unloaded about 73,000 sacks.

Sales of pints of Palmers premium ales have boosted the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance flying fund by more than £6,500. The Bridport brewery donates 5p from the sale of Palmers 200 to the life-saving charity, and this year, the amount raised is £6599.37.
